A Plein Air Event Like No Other

Now in the 18th year of documenting the landscape and culture of the last vestige of authentic "Old Florida,” Forgotten Coast en Plein Air, America's Great Paint-out, is among the world's most prestigious plein air events. Artistic excellence and the production of investment quality art continues to be the trademark of this 10-day festival. As the event continues, organizers are honing what makes the Forgotten Coast event exceptional. "The Forgotten Coast is a uniquely special place to all of us, with its natural beauty, classic old South architecture, and wonderful local people, all lending inspiration for outstanding plein air art,' says Susan Bassett, President of the Forgotten Coast Cultural Coalition board, organizers of the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air Paint Out for 18 years and counting. "We are committed to sharing the plein air art experience with students, locals, and visitors alike, with events ranging from Student Art Day to artist residencies to art enthusiast education and collector opportunities.  Proceeds from our event go back into our communities, extending the reach of our ten-day event year round."

The invitational features internationally acclaimed artists, as well as, several "Florida's Finest en Plein Air" artists honored as Plein Air Ambassadors. Expanded exhibits, Collectors Packages, exciting receptions with the artists, and surprises that will be fresh and new to the plein air community are all in the making! A Home for the Arts...

You know us by our Forgotten Coast en Plein Air event. What you may not know is that the funds we raise from this event go toward support of the Arts and arts education in Franklin and Gulf Counties.

A few years ago, we took a major step, purchasing the building at 201 Reid Avenue in Port St. Joe, giving us a home office and permanent base of operation and importantly, answering a need in Gulf County and Port St. Joe, by providing a home for The Joe Center for the Arts.

An arts center does more than host exhibits. Its programs contribute to the arts education, creativity, and quality of life of a community. The Joe, a 501c3, offers art classes, exhibits and hosts community events.

Please read more about this part of our mission by going to this page

Your donation to our Capital Campaign will go directly towards paying off the building, freeing up much-needed money for programming for The Joe, as well as money for gusto further our mission in support of the Arts in the Forgotten Coast.

Thank you and your support is greatly appreciated!
