Invited artists display their finest studio work inspired by their plein air work from the Forgotten Coast area. This exhibit exemplifies the tradition of artists taking a series of smaller pieces produced outdoors back to their studio, and producing larger, fully developed paintings you will see in the Master's Gallery. It is located in the Wet Room at the Armory, 66 4th Street in Apalachicola. All works are available for viewing and purchase. Times are 11:00am-5:00pm daily, except closing at 3:00 pm on March 26. Also opens at 1:00pm on March 19th.
Residency Exhibit - "Dune Restoration" by Greg Barnes
Featured artist Greg Barnes presents his work from his residency studying dune restoration in the area. The exhibit opens at the Residency Reception on Sunday, March 19, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the The Joe, 201 Reid Avenue in Port St. Joe. Thereafter, the exhibit will hang from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Monday, March 20 through Wednesday, March 22 at The Joe. Starting on Friday, March 25, see this exhibit at The Armory, 66 4th Street in Apalachicola from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, until the close of the event at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 26.
Florida’s Finest, Plein Air Ambassadors Exhibits features works from the 2023 Florida’s Finest Ambassadors. Exhibit will hang at The Joe, 201 Reid Avenue in Port St. Joe from March 20-March 22, 11:00am - 5:00pm. Exhibit will move to the wet room at The Armory in Apalachicola, 66 4th Street on Thursday, March 23 and hang daily 11:00am-5:00pm until Sunday, March 27th at 3:00 pm when the event ends.
Residency Presentation & Reception - "Expanding the Modern Plein Air Movement"
Featured artists Michelle Held and Manon Sander along with FAMU (Florida A & M University) and Florida State University student artists present their work from this residency. The exhibit opens at the Residency Reception on Monday, March 20, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Center for History, Culture and Art in Apalachicola. Thereafter, the exhibit will hang from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesday March 21 through Thursday, March 23 at the HCA. Starting on Friday, March 25, see this exhibit daily at The Armory, 66 4th Street in Apalachicola from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, until the close of the event at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 26.
