"The Forgotten Coast is a place of wonder for me. I remember my first drive from Carabelle a few years ago and the light off the water seemed unreal. It had a unique glow so different from other places I had been. And the atmosphere was scented with smoke from the estuaries and mixed with the late day sun to give the horizon a rosy tint. By the time i arrived in Apalachicola I felt immersed in a welcoming place that seemed out of a dream.
Of course, I have so many friends there now. These are the things I look forward to each time I return to The Forgotten Coast. It is a place which seems to ask only that one slow down to notice and appreciate the important things."
