    • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    • The Joe Center for the Arts, 201 Reid Ave., Port St. Joe, Florida

Introduction by Mark Shasha and Kimberly Shoaf, President of the Mexico Beach Tourism Development Council. Reception with highlight the two exhibits showing at The Joe. Florida’s Finest, Plein Air Ambassadors Exhibits features new works from the 2019 Florida’s Finest Ambassadors as well as works by past Ambassadors. The Unforgettable Forgotten Coast: Plein Air Remembers exhibit, features paintings from past events. The Forgotten Coast is one of the last vestiges of “Old Florida,” but the area is changing quickly. Hurricane Michael changed it radically in one day, especially Mexico Beach to Port St. Joe, Cape San Blas and Eastpoint. Carabelle, St. George Island, and Apalachicola also sustained coastal damage. It is the role of plein air to document and memorialize the Forgotten Coast as it was and save those memories for future generations.
